I Should Be Writing podcast
This is the Podcast Peer- and Parsec Award-winning show that I’ve been hosting and producing since 2005. I’ve used the show to chronicle and discuss the bumps one encounters through working on a writing career by talking about my own situation and interviewing several pro writers. Focusing on the emotional road blocks one finds in a writing career, this show speaks to over 13000 listeners every week. Learn more and follow the show here!
Ditch Diggers podcast
Ditch Diggers focuses on the business of writing, when the craft is not as important as the deadline. (Oh, the craft is very important. But deadline without craft can be worked with, but craft without deadline will never pay the bills.) We don’t worry about art here, we worry about the business of your writing.
My books are available in stores, online retailers, and through this site. Check out Solo: A Star Wars Story for the details that you wanted expanded from the movie, and check out I Should Be Writing if you need a supportive writing workshop in the form of a book.
In 2017 I released Six Wakes, a clone murder mystery in space that nominated for the 2018 Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, and Bookburners, a collaboration effort about a group of demon hunters for the Vatican. Bookburners continues through five total seasons, available at Realm.

The Shambling Guide to New York City won the 2014 Manly Wade Wellman Award, and I was lucky enough that its sequel, Ghost Train to New Orleans, won the 2015 Manly Wade Wellman Award! More info about my books here.
I’ve been a podcaster since December, 2004, and since then I’ve won the Podcast Peer Award, three Parsec Awards, and in 2015 I was inducted into the Podcaster Hall of Fame. My show Ditch Diggers (with Matt Wallace) won the 2018 Hugo Award for Best Fancast. My longest running show is I Should Be Writing (19 years strong as of August 2024!)
I’ve been the editor of Pseudopod, Mothership Zeta, and am currently the co-editor of Hugo Finalist Semiprozine Escape Pod (with Valerie Valdes).
